Washington (Monitoring Desk)Democratic Party lawmakers have demanded greater transparency in the policy regarding Israel’s alleged nuclear program, increasing pressure on the US government.
According to details, 30 Democratic members of Congress have sent a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, stating that the long-standing “policy of ambiguity” regarding Israel’s nuclear program should be ended.
The letter argued that the United States is supporting a country whose potential nuclear program is not officially acknowledged, leading to growing international doubts and concerns.
The lawmakers stated that this policy is undermining efforts to prevent nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and may further escalate regional tensions.
They emphasized that it is the constitutional responsibility of the US Congress to obtain full information on such matters and also keep the public informed.
Analysts say this development comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East are already rising, with disputes involving Iran and other parties intensifying, making nuclear-related issues even more sensitive.
