Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk): Israeli media have revealed that an important consensus has been reached between Israel and the United States regarding the disarmament of Hamas. According to an Israeli newspaper, the plan will give Hamas a final deadline of two months to surrender its weapons, while clear and practical mechanisms will be put in place to ensure implementation.
Meanwhile, an Israeli television channel has claimed that reconstruction work in Gaza’s Rafah area will begin even before Hamas is disarmed, a move being seen as a major shift in ground realities.
In this context, U.S. President Donald Trump adopted a tough stance on Monday, warning that Hamas would face serious consequences if it failed to disarm soon. He stated that a limited ceasefire has been in place in Gaza since October 10, established under a 20-point roadmap agreed upon by Israel and Hamas with U.S. backing.
According to sources, the plan aims to bring an end to a conflict that has continued for more than two years. However, the second phase is being described as the most complex, as it includes the disarmament of Hamas and the deployment of an international stabilization force—demands that Hamas has so far consistently rejected.
