Baku (Turkiye News): Preparations for the Türkiye-Azerbaijan joint military exercise “Heydar Aliyev 2026” have begun, marked by a flag exchange ceremony.
The exercise will be held in Kars. For this purpose, the Azerbaijani flag-bearing unit departed from the headquarters of the Combined Arms Army in Nakhchivan and reached the Sadarak border crossing via the Umid Bridge over the Aras River.
Meanwhile, the Turkish contingent also departed from the city of Kars and arrived at the designated location, where military representatives from both countries exchanged flags as a symbol of mutual cooperation.
According to officials, this joint exercise is considered an important step toward further strengthening defense cooperation and enhancing professional capabilities between the two brotherly nations.
