Ankara/Istanbul (Turkish News) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held discussions with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi and Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
Sources reported that Fidan and Araghchi exchanged views over the phone on the “latest developments in the war.” In a separate call, Fidan and Dar discussed efforts to de-escalate the conflict resulting from the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes.
Regional tensions have been rising since the U.S. and Israel carried out a joint attack on Iran on February 28, which has so far claimed the lives of over 1,340 people, including then-senior leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran responded by targeting U.S. military installations in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries with drones and missiles, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and impacts on global markets and aviation.
