Washington (Monitoring Desk) Donald Trump has made it unequivocally clear that Iran will not be permitted to enrich uranium at any level, whether twenty percent or higher.
Speaking to the media a day after the third round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran in Geneva, the former U.S. president stated that he does not support allowing Iran to enrich uranium even under the pretext of peaceful purposes. He emphasized that no level of enrichment would be acceptable to the United States.
Addressing reporters prior to an event in the coastal city of Corpus Christi, Texas, Trump remarked that while Iran seeks economic development, it already possesses vast oil reserves and therefore has no need for uranium enrichment to meet its energy requirements.
Trump accused Tehran of failing to demonstrate seriousness in the negotiations, describing the situation as regrettable and detrimental to the dialogue process.
Reiterating his stance, he declared in firm terms that there would be neither twenty percent nor thirty percent enrichment. While Iran maintains that its program is intended for civilian use, the United States does not accept this claim.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the pace of progress in the talks, Trump underscored that the United States would not retreat from its position and would maintain a strict policy on the enrichment issue.
