Washington (Monitoring Desk): US President Donald Trump has, for the time being, adopted a cautious approach regarding a possible meeting with exiled former Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. He has made it clear that assessing the situation is necessary before any formal diplomatic move is taken.
While speaking to journalists on Wednesday evening, President Trump responded to a question on the matter by saying that he is closely monitoring Reza Pahlavi’s activities. He remarked that Reza Pahlavi is a good person; however, at the current stage, he does not consider such a meeting appropriate in his capacity as President of the United States.
President Trump further stated that it is important to determine who truly represents the Iranian people, and therefore, acting in haste on this issue would not be the right course of action.
