Talks with Iran Moved to Oman, Limited to Nuclear Issue

Washington (Monitoring Desk) — The location for the anticipated direct talks between the United States and Iran has become uncertain, as Iranian sources reported that Tehran has requested to move the negotiations from Istanbul to the Sultanate of Oman. Iran has stipulated that the discussions be strictly limited to the nuclear issue and conducted solely between the Iranian and American sides.

According to Arab sources, the talks are expected to take place next Friday in Oman. The U.S. administration has approved Iran’s request, while consultations continue regarding the participation of other Arab and Islamic countries.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed in a White House press conference that his administration is in negotiations with the Iranian side. He stated that Iran appears willing to reach an agreement and emphasized that after missed opportunities in the past, strict measures had been taken, including the “Midnight Hammer” operation. Trump added that Iran does not want to repeat attacks and now seems ready for talks.
