Rawalpindi (Turkiye News) Chief of Defense Forces Asim Munir has said that today is a moment of pride for the entire nation because the enemy’s aggression was answered with national unity, courage, and unwavering determination, adding that Pakistan has always defeated the enemy’s expectations.
A special ceremony was held at GHQ on the occasion of the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, attended by Pakistan Air Force chief Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Pakistan Navy chief Naveed Ashraf. The military leadership visited the martyrs’ memorial, laid floral wreaths, and received a salute from smartly turned-out contingents of the armed forces.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Marka-e-Haq was a decisive battle between two ideologies in which truth emerged victorious while falsehood was defeated.
He said that Pakistan’s armed forces, through courage, professional excellence, and national resolve, defeated the enemy and brought pride to the nation.
He stated that India dreams of changing the regional balance of power in its favor, but Pakistan will never allow it to succeed. According to him, Pakistan’s national prestige has significantly increased over the past year, and the country’s number of international friends has also grown.
The Field Marshal said the entire nation salutes all martyrs and veterans, including civilians, women, elders, and children who sacrificed their lives during Marka-e-Haq.
He also praised the role of the President, Prime Minister, federal and provincial leadership, and political parties, whose political wisdom contributed significantly to the success.
According to him, Pakistan’s diplomatic representatives played an effective role globally, while the media and youth defeated enemy propaganda and cyber warfare efforts. He added that this victory was achieved not only on the battlefield but also at the national level, where the entire nation stood united.
Field Marshal Asim Munir further said that Pakistan’s defense is now completely impregnable and warned that the enemy should understand that any future misadventure would have extremely dangerous, far-reaching, and painful consequences.
He also stated that modern warfare will involve multi-domain operations in which drones, cyber technology, and artificial intelligence will play a vital role. Therefore, a Defense Forces Headquarters has been established to align Pakistan’s armed forces with modern requirements.
The Field Marshal urged Afghanistan to completely eliminate terrorist sanctuaries on its soil and made it clear that the war against terrorism would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
