Rise in Global Fuel Prices Boosts Demand for Electric Vehicles Worldwide

Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Following increased tensions between the United States and Israel over Iran, global prices of petrol and diesel have risen, leading to a significant surge in demand for electric vehicles worldwide.

According to international media reports, sales of used electric vehicles in Sydney, Australia, have increased sharply, with cars that previously took two months to sell now being sold within two weeks, while prices have also risen by 10 to 20 percent.

In China, electric vehicle sales increased by 82.6 percent during March, while in the United States, more than 80,000 electric vehicles were sold last month, indicating steady monthly growth.

Reports also show that in Vietnam, a local company recorded a 127 percent increase in electric vehicle sales, while Japan and South Korea have also witnessed a notable rise in demand.

In Europe, registrations of electric vehicles have accelerated, particularly in countries such as Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, where usage continues to expand.

In Australia, the share of electric vehicles in total car sales has increased to 14.6 percent, nearly double compared to last year, reflecting a strong global shift toward cleaner transportation.
