Gaza (Monitoring Desk): Ongoing Israeli airstrikes coupled with severe weather conditions have further worsened the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Continuous rainfall and strong winds have made life extremely difficult for thousands of displaced people, while the shortage of basic facilities has intensified the suffering.
According to local sources, on Sunday the Israeli military targeted several locations in the eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Loud explosions were heard from a distance as multiple residential neighborhoods in the eastern parts of the city were affected.
The humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating. Families living in temporary tents are facing serious distress due to heavy rainfall. A lack of shelters, clean drinking water, and other basic necessities has pushed conditions to alarming levels.
Civil Defense officials in Rafah reported receiving continuous pleas for assistance from families in the affected areas. Strong winds and torrential rains have damaged many tents, while several were completely uprooted, leaving dozens of families displaced once again.
Despite limited resources, Civil Defense teams are continuing relief operations in the impacted regions. However, officials described the situation as extremely critical and appealed to international organizations and humanitarian agencies for immediate assistance to prevent the crisis from worsening further.
Videos circulating on social media show numerous tents submerged in water. In coastal areas, seawater has also entered the shelters, further increasing the hardships faced by displaced families.
