PPP Announces Candidates for Gilgit-Baltistan Elections

Gilgit (Turkiye Khabar) Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has formally announced the names of its candidates for the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Elections. The party has issued tickets for candidates in 21 out of 24 constituencies and has officially launched its election campaign.

According to the list issued by the party, Provincial President Amjad Hussain Azar has been awarded the party ticket for LA-1 Gilgit-I, Jameel Ahmed for LA-2 Gilgit-II, Aftab Haider for LA-3 Gilgit-III, and Muhammad Ali Akhtar for LA-4 Nagar-I.

Similarly, Zulfiqar Ali Murad has been nominated from LA-5 Nagar-II, while retired Colonel Imtiaz-ul-Haq has been fielded from LA-6 Hunza. In the Skardu constituencies, Tauqeer Mehdi Shah from LA-7, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah from LA-8, Fida Muhammad Nishad from LA-9, and Raja Nasir Ali Khan from LA-10 have been nominated as party candidates.

PPP has awarded tickets to Iqbal Hassan for LA-11 Kharmang and عمران Nadeem for LA-12 Shigar, while retired Major Fahad Haneef Khan has been nominated from LA-13 Astore-I.

In the Diamer constituencies, Bashir Ahmad Khan from LA-15 Diamer-I, Attaullah Shah from LA-16 Diamer-II, and Muhammad Naseem from LA-17 Diamer-III have received party tickets.

For the Ghizer constituencies, Syed Jalal Ali Shah from LA-19 Ghizer-I, Nazir Ahmad from LA-20 Ghizer-II, and Muhammad Ayub Shah from LA-21 Ghizer-III have been nominated as candidates, while Dr. Ashiq Hussain from LA-22 Ghanche-I and Engineer Muhammad Ismail from LA-24 Ghanche-III have also been awarded tickets.

For women’s reserved seats, PPP has included Kulsoom Jahangir, Saadia Danish, Sabiha Jabeen Muqaddam, Khadija Akbar, Fahmeeda Shaheen, Parveen Bano, Saeeda Mughal, and Zareesh Fatima in its priority list.

For technocrat reserved seats, the names of Dr. Sharif Astori, Ali Madad Sher, Niaz Ali, and Momin Jan have been included.

It is noteworthy that the party has not yet announced candidates for three constituencies: LA-14 Astore-II, LA-18, and LA-23.
