Parliament Passes Resolution on Gul Plaza Incident Despite Opposition Protests

Islamabad (Pakistan News):In a joint session of Parliament, a unanimous resolution on the Gul Plaza tragedy was passed by both the government and opposition. In addition, several key bills were approved despite strong protests from opposition members and objections raised by the President.

The session, chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, began 35 minutes behind schedule. Opposition members staged a protest, chanting slogans and surrounding the Speaker’s podium, but the legislative process continued.

The President voiced concerns over the Danish Schools Authority Bill and the Domestic Violence Bill, urging the federal government to consult provinces before finalizing such legislation. He also suggested reconsideration of the proposed penalties in the Domestic Violence Bill, calling them vague.

Despite these objections, Parliament approved the bills, moving forward with the legislative process.
