Mass Protests Erupt in Tel Aviv Against Netanyahu

Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk): Public anger against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly surfaced as thousands of protesters poured into the streets of Tel Aviv, chanting slogans in favor of government change.

According to foreign news agencies, demonstrators also demanded the formation of an independent and impartial investigative commission to probe the events of October 7, 2023, insisting that the truth must be brought before the public.

Protesters said that Netanyahu’s policies and political decisions have pushed the country into a deep national crisis. They accused the prime minister of attempting to curtail judicial independence in order to consolidate political power and influence the corruption cases currently pending against him.

Netanyahu faces allegations of corruption, fraud, and misleading the public, with long-running cases under trial in Israeli courts. His recent request for a presidential pardon also triggered sharp backlash, which demonstrators described as an effort to cling to power.

Several protesters, particularly the families of hostages, criticized the government’s handling of the Gaza war, calling it a failure and urging authorities to adopt strategies that would ensure the swift release of hostages by all possible means.
