Israeli Airstrikes Hit Southern Lebanon and Southern Suburbs of Beirut, Millions Affected

Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk): The Israeli military has carried out new airstrikes on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut following Israeli warnings. Since the start of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, approximately 760,000 people have been displaced.

According to the Lebanese government’s Disaster Management Unit, as of March 2, the number of registered affected individuals has reached 759,300, with over 122,000 residing in government shelters. Arrangements for the displaced have been made in Beirut’s Sports City and other school shelters.

Reports from the National News Agency indicate that Israeli warplanes heavily bombed a building in the Hay al-Jamous area of southern suburbs and near Tyre, while a building in Sidon city was also warned to be evacuated. Airstrikes continue across various villages in southern Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, so far 570 people have been killed and 1,444 injured. Hezbollah announced rocket attacks on gatherings of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in four separate statements on Tuesday, targeting areas around al-Khiyam and Adaisseh, particularly those where Israeli forces had infiltrated last week.
