Ankara (Turkey News): Israel has launched a new wave of attacks on Iran, further escalating tensions in the region and intensifying what is being described as one of the worst global energy crises in decades.
Reports of explosions emerged from Tehran, while Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates stated that they intercepted incoming missiles and drones, as the conflict continues to spread across the region.
According to Fatih Birol, at least 40 energy facilities across oil- and gas-producing countries have suffered “severe or very severe damage,” as the conflict enters its fourth week.
In response to the attacks, Iran has launched missile and drone strikes targeting Israel, Gulf energy installations, and even U.S. diplomatic centers. The conflict has also disrupted movement in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route responsible for nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply.
