Iran Denies Direct Talks with US, Welcomes Peace Efforts

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that no direct negotiations have taken place with the United States; however, the exchange of messages between the two countries is continuing through mediation.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that peace efforts by regional countries are commendable, but the current situation must be viewed realistically.

He said that most of the proposals presented to Iran are unrealistic, unreasonable, and excessive, making them unacceptable.

The spokesperson emphasized that Iran will fully protect the rights of its citizens everywhere and expressed hope that the United Arab Emirates would act with wisdom and foresight regarding Iranian nationals.

He further stated that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon will continue performing his duties in Beirut, while linking the Ukraine conflict with the ongoing war against Iran is a serious misunderstanding.

It is worth noting that a key meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan was also held in Islamabad to discuss mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.
