Shusha (Turkiye Khabar) An international conference on the theme “Regional Role for Global Security: Building Peace in the South Caucasus” was held under the auspices of the New Azerbaijan Party.
According to the official news agency of Azerbaijan, the event began with a one-minute silence in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, followed by the national anthem.
A message from the President of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev was conveyed to the participants by Jeyhun Bayramov, Head of the Department for Political Parties and Legislative Relations at the Presidential Administration.
Addressing the conference, Aydin Karimov, Presidential Representative for the Shusha district, said that cities and villages in the liberated territories are being repopulated, while children’s activities and sounds of joy can be heard in educational institutions.
He stated that newly built housing projects in these areas are providing accommodation to formerly displaced persons, who are beginning a new life.
According to him, more than 80,000 people are currently living and working in the liberated territories, a large number of whom are former displaced persons, while around 30 historical monuments of local and national importance have so far been restored in Shusha.
