Karachi (Turkiah News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered a strict crackdown against mafias involved in money laundering and human smuggling. During his visit to the FIA Karachi Zone, he chaired a special meeting to review the performance of Karachi and adjacent zones.
The Interior Minister directed authorities to take a firm stance against major money launderers and stated that the hawala business will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Agents involved in human smuggling and those sending innocent people abroad will face strict action without any leniency.
He also instructed that individuals involved in the illegal drugs trade be brought to justice and emphasized that human resources shortages in the FIA Karachi Zone should be addressed on a priority basis. Officers will be provided with the necessary resources, but must work efficiently to enhance the agency’s reputation.
Minister Naqvi requested performance reports from in-charge officers of relevant circles and urged them to work diligently. The FIA Karachi Zone Director briefed that in the past four months, 20 agents involved in human smuggling have been arrested, and a facilitation center has been established at Karachi Airport for the convenience of travelers.
