Dhaka (Monitoring Desk): Bangladeshi authorities have alleged that the Border Security Force (India) attempted to forcibly push dozens of individuals into Bangladeshi territory from multiple border points, but that the attempt was successfully foiled by border forces.
In a statement issued by the Border Guard Bangladesh, it was claimed that a total of 11 border locations reported such incidents, in which approximately 129 individuals were allegedly pushed illegally across the border.
The statement said that surveillance, intelligence monitoring, and patrolling systems have been further strengthened to prevent any form of illegal movement. Authorities made it clear that no individual or group will be allowed to enter the country illegally, and any violation of international border laws will be met with a strong response.
According to Bangladeshi officials, the incidents occurred in border areas including Chapainawabganj, Netrakona, Sylhet, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Joypurhat, Khulna, and Jhenaidah. In one incident, BSF personnel reportedly brought 30 to 35 people in a jail van and attempted to push them across the border, but the effort was blocked through joint action by Border Guard Bangladesh and local residents.
It was further reported that similar attempts were made in some other areas, which were also prevented by border forces. Bangladeshi authorities claimed that holding centers exist on the Indian side where individuals are kept before being sent across the border.
Following these incidents, Bangladesh has further strengthened security and intelligence systems in sensitive border sectors to prevent any future occurrences.
