Islamabad (Turkey News): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, stated that all measures of Indian oppression and violence have failed to weaken the resolve of the Kashmiri people.
In his message on Kashmir’s Right to Self-Determination Day, the Prime Minister recalled that on January 5, United Nations Security Council resolutions recognized the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. He highlighted that on January 5, 1949, the UN Commission for Pakistan and India had passed a historic resolution.
The resolution stipulated that the future of the State of Jammu and Kashmir should be determined through a free and impartial plebiscite. However, this promise could not be fulfilled due to the presence of Indian occupying forces.
Shahbaz Sharif further emphasized that the people of occupied Kashmir have endured Indian atrocities for over eight decades, urging the international community to take necessary measures to end India’s oppressive actions.
