Incidents of Violence Against Palestinian Christians Reported During Christmas

Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk): On Christmas, Israeli police and Jewish settlers reportedly carried out multiple acts of violence and intimidation against the Palestinian Christian community.

According to international news agencies, Israeli police used force against people celebrating Christmas in Haifa and Bethlehem in the West Bank, detaining several individuals. Viral videos show police officers forcibly arresting citizens dressed as Santa Claus.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers set fire to a Christmas tree, while in Haifa, police reportedly entered a music hall unannounced, disrupted a Christmas event, and confiscated materials present at the venue.

Despite these actions, the Palestinian Christian community in the occupied West Bank continued their Christmas celebrations, adhering to restrictions. In Bethlehem, the December 25 celebrations were held for the first time since the onset of the conflict in Gaza, with citizens celebrating peacefully.
