Spain (Monitoring Desk): In a tragic railway accident in southern Spain, a high-speed train derailed and collided with another high-speed train coming from the opposite direction, resulting in the deaths of 39 people and injuries to more than 100 others.
According to foreign news agencies, the accident occurred near the town of Adamuz in the province of Córdoba, approximately 360 kilometers south of the capital, Madrid. Head of the Andalusian regional government, Juanma Moreno, stated that 75 injured passengers have been shifted to hospitals, with at least 15 reported to be in critical condition.
Authorities said the impact of the collision was extremely severe, raising fears that more people may be trapped under the debris, which could increase the death toll. Heavy machinery has been deployed for rescue operations, and efforts are underway to clear the wreckage and search for survivors.
