Ankara (Turkey News): Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense has confirmed that seven people were killed in a helicopter crash in Qatar, including four personnel of the Qatari armed forces, one member of the Turkish Armed Forces, and two technicians from ASELSAN.
In its statement, the ministry said that military cooperation and coordination activities between Türkiye and Qatar are continuing uninterrupted under existing agreements and plans.
According to initial reports, the helicopter—belonging to the Qatari armed forces and engaged in training under the Qatar-Türkiye Joint Force Command—crashed into the sea on Saturday evening due to a technical fault.
“Following the launch of search and rescue operations, the wreckage of the helicopter and the bodies of our martyrs have been recovered,” the statement said.
The ministry added that the exact cause of the accident will be determined after investigations by Qatari authorities are completed.
