Islamabad (Turkiya News): The Supreme Court has delivered a significant verdict regarding delays in promotions of government employees. The court restored the promotion of eligible officer Fakhar Majeed from the date of the first departmental promotion committee and declared the Punjab Service Tribunal’s decision null and void.
The court emphasized that eligible government employees have the right to timely promotions, and administrative negligence or delays cannot be penalized on the employee.
Justice Ayesha Malik issued a seven-page written verdict stating that promotion is a fundamental right, and employees should not suffer due to administrative failure.
The Supreme Court directed government institutions to ensure timely promotions and include eligible employees in departmental committees.
