Karachi (Turkiye News): Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Mohammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, has announced plans to convert Hasan Shah Island, located near Karachi, into a modern eco-tourism hub.
According to the minister, the island will be developed into an environmentally safe, modern, and world-class tourist destination. The project will offer comprehensive facilities focused on eco-friendly, sports, and lifestyle tourism to attract both domestic and international visitors. The initial cost of the project is estimated at 1 to 1.5 billion PKR, with future investments expected to reach billions of rupees.
Mohammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry stated that the island will be connected to Karachi’s Eastern Zone via a land route, improving accessibility. He added that the Government of Pakistan is taking robust measures to turn the coastal belt into a center of economic growth.
The federal minister emphasized that Hasan Shah Island will serve as a new example of the blue economy, boosting tourism while creating new employment opportunities.
