Experts Say Trump Repeatedly Misjudged Iran’s Response

Washington (Monitoring Desk): Ross Harrison, an expert on Middle East affairs, stated that U.S. President Donald Trump repeatedly misjudged Iran’s responses and was surprised by Iranian actions both before and during periods of tension.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Harrison said that during negotiations, Trump expected Iran to surrender, but that did not happen. U.S. and Israeli attacks even included scenarios targeting the possible elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, yet the Iranian regime remained intact, which reportedly surprised Trump.

Harrison warned that Trump’s miscalculations could pose greater dangers in the future, especially as tensions escalate and Iran operates strategically and with complex maneuvers. He added that initially, the escalation was limited to attacks on Israeli or U.S. bases, but now Iran has set its own terms, with the Strait of Hormuz emerging as its most significant leverage.
