Havana (Monitoring Desk): The Cuban government has confirmed that 32 Cuban citizens were killed during the U.S. operation in Venezuela. According to an official statement, all those killed were members of Cuba’s armed forces and intelligence agencies, performing security and defense duties. Cuba has declared them national heroes.
The government announced a two-day mourning period on January 5 and 6, with funeral arrangements to be shared later. The confirmation has further heightened tensions in the already volatile region.
