Pakistan’s Acting Permanent Representative, Usman Jadoon, urged that the dispute be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding, warning that unilateral military action would increase global instability. He added that escalating tensions in the Caribbean could have negative regional and global consequences.
UN Secretary-General:
UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed concern over the U.S. operation in Venezuela, stating that the detention of Maduro and his wife under U.S. custody violates international law. He emphasized the importance of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Venezuela’s Statement:
Venezuela’s representative condemned the U.S. action as illegal, claiming that Maduro and his wife were abducted, civilians and military personnel were killed, and essential infrastructure was damaged. The envoy stressed the necessity of upholding international law.
Russia’s Position:
The Russian envoy strongly condemned the U.S. operation and called for the immediate release of Maduro and his wife. Russia accused the U.S. of seeking to seize Venezuela’s natural resources and urged the international community to counter Washington’s actions.

The U.S. delegate defended the operation, describing it as a surgical mission in which “terrorist” Maduro and his wife were captured, asserting that the operation aimed to protect the American people.
