Baku (Turkey News): Azerbaijan participated in the international forum “Strengthening Global Anti-Doping Governance: Coordination, Compliance, and Regional Cooperation” held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, under the auspices of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Azerbaijan was represented by Taherina Tagiyeva, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency. The opening ceremony featured speeches by WADA President Witold Banka, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sports Udkham Akramov, and Director General of the Uzbekistan National Anti-Doping Agency, Abdushukur Sadiqov.
The forum focused on priority goals for the coming years, including full implementation of the WADA Code and ensuring athletes’ rights and health protection. Participating countries exchanged experiences, successes, and challenges, and discussed effective methods for regional cooperation in the global fight against doping.
Approximately 200 government officials, heads of national anti-doping agencies, and international experts attended the event.
