Sanaa (Monitoring Desk): The Yemeni Parliament has called for the immediate suspension of all illegal military activities in Hadramout and Al-Mahrah, urging that all camps established outside state authority by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) be vacated without delay.
In an official statement, the parliament expressed serious concern over the STC’s recent military movements and actions, warning that they pose grave threats not only to law and order but also to social cohesion. The parliament reaffirmed its full support for the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council and cautioned that such actions could further escalate tensions.
According to the statement, the STC’s unlawful activities have undermined public security, violated citizens’ rights, targeted state civil and military institutions, and involved reported incidents of attacks on private homes, sieges of villages, and damage to property.
The Yemeni Parliament emphasized that these actions constitute clear violations of the Yemeni Constitution, applicable laws, and United Nations Security Council resolutions, and are considered a direct threat to state unity and sovereignty.
It also voiced deep concern over reports that unauthorized arms shipments are being transferred from the UAE’s Fujairah Port to Mukalla Port in Hadramout, describing this as a breach of national sovereignty that is further complicating the security situation.
The statement warned that if these actions continue, Yemen could face deeper fragmentation, violence, and instability, with repercussions for regional peace, including in Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. It added that such externally supported measures harm the political process and severely undermine national interests rather than contributing to state-building.
