Afghan Interior Minister Welcomes Pakistan’s Statements

Kabul (Monitoring Desk): Afghanistan’s Interior Minister, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, has welcomed recent statements by Pakistani scholars and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar aimed at reducing tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.

According to Afghan television channel Tolo News, speaking at a ceremony recognizing the performance of Kabul Municipality and other institutions, Sirajuddin Haqqani said he values all statements that help resolve issues between the two neighboring countries.

The Interior Minister noted that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar recently made positive statements regarding Afghanistan, which the Afghan government appreciates. He also acknowledged that during a gathering of Pakistani scholars, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mufti Taqi Usmani expressed supportive statements in favor of Afghanistan, for which the Afghan government is grateful.

Sirajuddin Haqqani further stated that the Islamic Emirate is committed to regional security and stability. He emphasized that the Afghan people pose no threat and have no malicious intentions. Afghanistan aims to share a message of peace and brotherhood globally and seeks to address concerns both domestically and internationally.

The Interior Minister called on other countries to contribute to Afghanistan’s reconstruction and urged Afghan citizens to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had said in a press conference in Islamabad that Pakistan holds goodwill for Afghanistan and will not allow Afghan territory to be used for any potential threats. He also welcomed statements from Pakistani scholars in Kabul, emphasizing that Afghan land should not be used against any other country.
