Washington (Monitoring Desk): Donald Trump has strongly criticized the U.S. media over its coverage of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran, declaring some reports as “practical treason.” In a statement issued on his social media platform Truth Social, he said that such news suggesting Tehran is in a stronger military position than Washington is effectively aiding the enemy.
Donald Trump stated that this kind of reporting is giving Iran false hope, whereas, according to him, Iran should have no room for such hope. He severely criticized the American media, saying that some elements are standing against their own country, and only failed, ungrateful, and foolish individuals can argue against the United States.
According to reports, other senior officials of the Trump administration have also, in recent days, criticized media outlets over critical coverage of the war. During this time, CNN, citing unnamed officials, claimed that President Trump urged the U.S. Department of Justice to summon journalists reporting on the Iran war in order to gain access to their confidential sources.
According to political analysts, tensions between President Trump and the American media have once again intensified, especially at a time when the military and diplomatic situation between Iran and the United States has become the focus of global attention.
