TikTok Signs Historic Deal for FIFA World Cup 2026

Zurich (Sports Desk): FIFA and TikTok have reached a landmark agreement to expand digital coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, offering fans exclusive and innovative experiences connected to the world’s biggest football event.

The partnership aims to make the 2026 World Cup more accessible to millions of fans worldwide. Under the agreement, TikTok has been named FIFA’s first preferred digital platform, featuring behind-the-scenes highlights, special videos, and unique content.

A dedicated TikTok hub for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will provide fans with easy access to match tickets, broadcast information, and gaming features. Broadcasters and official media partners will also benefit from opportunities for live streaming, sharing match clips, and generating revenue through digital advertising.

FIFA and TikTok have announced strict anti-piracy policies to protect intellectual property, and, for the first time, a comprehensive creator program will give selected TikTok creators direct access to press conferences and training sessions.

FIFA Secretary-General Matias Grafström stated that the goal is to bring the excitement of the 2026 World Cup to every corner of the globe, with TikTok serving as an effective platform. TikTok’s management noted that football-related content is growing rapidly, making this collaboration crucial to engage younger audiences with the sport.

This agreement follows the success of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023’s digital coverage, which was viewed billions of times on TikTok, and sets the stage to give the 48-team World Cup 2026 a new digital identity.
