New Delhi (Monitoring Desk): Reports have emerged that the situation in the Indian state of Manipur is deteriorating further with each passing day.
According to a report by Indian magazine India Today, tensions in Manipur are increasing due to the presence and alleged operations of security forces.
The report states that clashes broke out between the Assam Rifles and protesters during demonstrations against the establishment of a new military post, leaving at least four people, including women, injured.
Local residents said that the Assam Rifles attempted to set up a new post in the area without taking the local administration into confidence, which triggered strong protests.
According to reports, the situation worsened when security personnel allegedly resorted to aerial firing and baton charges, further escalating tensions in the area.
The protesters have demanded the immediate removal of the disputed post in order to restore peace and stability in the region.
