Washington (Monitoring Desk): US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that “Project Freedom” was halted at Pakistan’s request in order to create a better diplomatic environment for a possible agreement with Iran.
According to a news agency, Marco Rubio stated that Pakistan had taken the position that suspending Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz could help pave the way for negotiations and a potential agreement with Iran.
The US Secretary of State further said that the project was temporarily paused to give diplomacy a chance, adding that US President Donald Trump has always preferred diplomatic solutions.
