Meeting between Sohail Afridi and Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rights and federal budget

Islamabad (Turkey News Desk): Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi met with the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the Mufti Mehmood Center.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on matters of mutual interest, provincial rights, and the federal budget, including resource distribution for the upcoming financial year.

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated on the occasion that the share of the merged districts is not being given to the province in the NFC Award, while there are also difficulties in the supply of wheat from the Punjab government.

He further said that obstacles from the federal government in the supply of gas to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also concerning. According to him, the province produces more than 500 MMCFD of gas, yet it is not being provided its due share.

Muhammad Sohail Afridi said that the province uses around 150 MMCFD of gas for its needs, but despite this, supply issues remain unacceptable.

He maintained that the attitude of the federal and Punjab governments is equivalent to violating relevant constitutional articles and that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being discriminated against.

Senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) also attended the meeting.
