Baku (Turkiye Khabar) A shortage of jet fuel in Europe has caused serious difficulties for airlines, with Brussels Airlines also directly affected.
According to the Azerbaijani news agency AZERTAC, Belgian media reported that Brussels Airlines currently has only 4 to 6 weeks of jet fuel reserves remaining.
The report states that due to the fuel shortage, several flights are being cancelled and passengers’ tickets are being refunded.
Brussels Airlines, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, operates flights to around 90 destinations and has approximately 3,700 employees and a fleet of 46 aircraft.
It is worth noting that tensions in the Middle East and disruptions in supply routes through the Strait of Hormuz have led to rising oil and gas prices in Europe, which has also pushed jet fuel prices upward. According to reports, European Union refineries are currently able to meet only around 70 percent of jet fuel demand.
